ANIMA`S "SMART" MONTESSORI 2in1 FURNITURE

The "Prepared Environment" Reimagined

Simple yet extraordinary, our designs are inspired by Montessori's pioneering concept of the "prepared environment." We've taken this approach further by embedding iconic Montessori materials—like the Pink Tower, Brown Stairs, Math Beads, and Clothes Lace Zipper—into functional furniture such as beds, cupboards, and wardrobes.

This seamless integration turns everyday furniture into interactive learning tools, fostering growth and independence in every moment.

What Do Children Really Need?

In today's digital age, online games and apps have replaced traditional toys like dolls and cars. Yet, even a century later, we seem far from fully embracing Maria Montessori's progressive insights. At ANIMA, we believe it’s time to rethink how we support children’s development in a balanced, meaningful way.

Our mission is to help set appropriate boundaries for digital exposure and ensure children engage in high-quality, age-appropriate online and offline educational activities.

Unlocking the Hidden Potential of Eco-Furniture

Inspired by Maria Montessori's concept of the "prepared environment," we’ve reimagined children’s homes and classroom furniture as untapped resources for learning. By integrating Montessori materials (Sensorial, Psycho-motor, Math, Writing) into everyday furniture, we’ve created a space where children can:

  • Choose activities that inspire individual focus or collaborative work.
  • Explore and master their environment as the natural creators they are.

ANIMA's furniture isn’t just functional—it’s an interactive, prepared environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and growth.

Learning, discovery, and play—all in one place.

Aligned with Children`s Natural Rhythm

Maria Montessori famously emphasized that children don’t need conventional toys. Toys often lose their appeal quickly and fail to support the unique psychomotor and social learning needs that children naturally develop through imitation and repetition.

Our first collection of innovative, Montessori-inspired furniture is designed to meet these needs while addressing the challenges of modern childhood. Traditional education systems still lean heavily on gender-specific toys—many made from non-sustainable plastic—while rapid digitalization introduces new complexities. Our furniture offers a sustainable, engaging alternative, supporting children’s growth in harmony with their natural rhythms.

MOVEMENT FOR COGNITIVE GROWTH

Anima's smart furniture brings together the groundbreaking insights of leading child development researchers—like Piaget, Merleau-Ponty, Esther Thelen, Mulhof, and Pikler. These pioneers shared a vision of child development deeply rooted in movement as the foundation for cognitive and emotional growth.

Children build themselves through movement. Development progresses:

  • From action to thought,
  • From the concrete to the abstract,
  • From physical activity to mental representation,
  • From the bodily to the cognitive.

This perspective shifts the focus from "psychomotor" to "motor-psychic" development—where movement drives cognitive growth. Development happens here and now, as children engage with their world, observing and adapting in ways that continuously shape their embodied and situated cognition.
